Learning

When it comes to learning, is it somehow better that we learn to use that knowledge somewhere (career etc.) or learning for the sake of learning is somehow a form of escapism. Should we learn things in certain order which will benefit us in the career or don't worry about it at all and learn things which we find interesting?

A few books which I should finish up:

1. Molecular Biology of the Cell by Bruce Alberts, Alexander Johnson, Julian Lewis, Martin Raff, Keith Roberts, Peter Walter

2. On Liberty by John Stuart Mill

3. Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas Hofstadter

bye bye AFC South Title

So long AFC south division title. Seems like Tennessee Titans are the new Division champions. All I can hope for is Colts making as a wild card team and running the table in the playoffs.

Do or Die.

Big game tonight,
Even though I am not a big fan of MNF since ESPN took over the Mondays and made it horrible, I still would love to watch each snap of tonight game. Indy goes to Nashville, I hope they win else no more Division title hopes for them. Come on D.

It's all about the Blitzes

It's all about the Blitzes. My cousin gave me the name 'Blitz Bomber' as I would bring pressure with different packages when playing Madden '09 If you are a football fan, you would understand what I meant. I believe that Blitzing the QB is the best way to upset the rhythm of a top notch offense. Last year, when Patriots were blowing people away, I did tell people around me (who would listen to me) that if the Defensive coordinators apply blitzes, they would be able to win the game.

Eventually the prediction came true when we saw NY Giants bring an awesome blitz pacakeg and completely disrupted the Patriots offensive line. It was Steve Spagnola's scheme which he learned under the great Blitzing guru Jim Johnson's (of Philadelphia Eagles).

In my opinion, Dick Labu of Pittsburgh Steelers is the best Blitzing D-Coordinator. He has a 3-4 defense which gives him great opportunity to create pressure scheme from different angles. Seeing him dismantle QBs and the O-lines is a pleasure (btw, I am not a Steelers fan).
